Is Quiet Quitting a Silent Revolution in The Workplace or a Growing Problem?

🔴 Quiet Quitters make up to 50% of the US workforce.

💡 Quiet Quitters are people who do the bare minimum required and are psychologically detached from their jobs.

❇️ It's a case where you’re not outright quitting your job but you’re quitting the idea of going above and beyond

❇️ According to a CIGNA report for the UAE in 2019, 77 per cent of employees reported feeling their stress as always present, and defined their work culture as “always-on”.

❓️ Could Quiet Quitting and indicator of a growing trend in the behaviour of the workforce? Maybe employees no longer subscribe to the idea that their "work defines who they are".

Many experts and pro 'Quiet Quitters" say that the phenomenon is actually a form of protest. Think of it as a 'rebellion' against how employees are treated by their employers, or their relationship with their jobs.

💡 So why is this a growing behavior?

This comes as increasing number of people re-evaluate their life choices, and naturally their current jobs. It's so common nowadays to hear people declare "There's more to life than work'. Many actually act upon it by either quitting their jobs or 'quiet quitting' on their jobs.

💡 Could Quiet Quitting be a reflection of poor management?

Management that puts the company's profitability and bottom line as the first and only focus at the expense of their employees'. Maybe a lack of a clear career purpose and a career path. How else could management be responsible for the rise of this phenomen?
