How Can You Tell if You Did Great in a Job Interview?

✅ Ever had that feeling that you aced a job interview after it was over? And you felt really good about it.

🛑 Only to find out that you actually were not shortlisted for the role.

✅ I had a similar story with a candidate I sent for an interview. After the interview was over. I asked him what I thought, this is what the interview looked like to him:

● It was great, I could see they were impressed by my confidence!

● My answers to all the questions they posed was so good and clear, they didn't see the need to pose any further questions.

● The interview took more than an hour. We even spoke about things that were not work related such as my last vacation, my hobby my childhood, etc

Now, on the other hand, here's what the client's feedback was:

○ We felt he was "overconfident", and the rest of the Directors in the room didn't like it.

○ He wouldn't give us the answers we were looking for. It seemed like he didn't have enough knowledge in the areas we asked about.

○ In more than one occasion he kept straying off subject of the interview and talking about different irrelevant topics.
