What Are The Top HR Challenges Facing SMEs In The UAE and The GCC?


SMEs in the UAE and the Gulf region are confronted with a number of challenges, and in-spite of the huge impact people and HR processes have on SMEs very little is said about these challenges.

Business owners and managers of small or medium-sized business do not have the luxury of time, budgets or even resources in order to adapt their HR processes in the most optimum way.

Helping SMEs address their human resource issues is important for two main reasons: HR is crucial to the survival and competitiveness of SMEs, and at the same time SMEs are a reflection of how healthy an economy is. To me, this means it’s not only a problem SMEs need to be concerned about, but as well the sustainability of the entire economy is in stake.
